Three years ago we ordered a new Mud Hog with 18.4x26 Firestone field and road tires and it was a little under $11,000, we've been kicking ourselves ever since for not getting the big metric R1W tires when we got it.  In our soil types the Mud Hog is far better than duals and in my opinion a set of 30.5x32 rice tires would be alot better than duals as well.  You could also get a 900 series metric rice tire that will fit on your current rims but are 35" wide and about 4" taller than your 30.5s.  In my opinion if you have bad mud the only way a 2wd combine is going to work very well is with tracks, otherwise it just takes too much traction to drag the back end around.  We added our Mud Hog mid season because we couldn't go anymore with 2wd and under the same conditions where the 2wd machine was leaving 12" deep ruts with the mud hog it would leave 2-3" deep ruts and it probably doubled the life of the hydro and transmission at the same time.
