Minier, Illinois
Someone correct me if I am wrong, but I think 1000 rpm equipment is used to reduce the torque that is transmitted to the implement from the tractor. They are generally used on equipment that is intended to be used on high horsepower tractors to keep from tearing up gearboxes and other PTO driven parts. I would say that it would depend on the size of tractor that you will be using. If it is a higher HP tractor then you would want a 1000 rpm mower. If you are using a smaller tractor you would want a 540 rpm.
