Must be a bunch of clueless DOT around the snow belt then, never even heard of rubber'plastic edges on snow plows . I could see a rubber or plastic edge on the bottom of a snow plow lasting about 30ft, maybe 50 if you get lucky LOL.. HERE, plows run carbine blades on them, for what its worth run a carbide blade on dry bare pavement and you get that same burning rubber smell.
