Ripley, Ontario Canada | I have a 1680 with a standard rotor and I am having trouble cleanly thrashing wheat. Currently run 2 small wire concaves and 1 large wire. 1st concave has cover plates and some extra bars in the front half. Second concave is small wire, and third is large wire (combine had small wire concaves with the back concave having every other wire pulled so it was just like large wire so I don't change back and forth). Small wire concaves are in good shape, large wire is a bit more beat up. I am running about 1 on the concave scale and about 850 rotor rpm, with decent rotor bars and new serrated bars on the back. I get some wheat kernals that are not hulled.
Do I speed up rotor, add third small wire concave, or a 3rd cover plate?
Thanks
