High Springs, Florida | I have a 25 HP Mercury 4 stroke Big Foot on a 16 foot Sundance Skiff. It gets about 12-14 mpg, idles really nice. Takes it a while to get up on plane, but I don't mind.
I also have a 19' Hurricane with 85 HP Yamaha 2 stroke. It does not have oil injection, thank God. Some of my friends have had problems with the oil injection going out and the fix is a new $1500 computer board. Sounds like a giant chain saw engine, It gets about 4 mpg. The 4 stroke starts better after sitting for a couple of weeks, and I like the quieter sound of a 4 stroke. Oil changes, no big deal. | |
