Columbia Basin, Ephrata, WA | It was hot this last week, so we decided to pick rock on a field that we plan to get in production next year. The logic was that the picking tractor and loader had AC, so that was good, but if anything went wrong the rocks and dust outside the cab were HOT. This field is about 40 acres, and most of it has never been in production for obvious reasons. The things we do for high prices. 100 million acres and 15+ billion bushels next year, here we come!
I tried to get a before and after pic in the worst spot. Most of the field is better than we thought it would be. I don't have a load count, but the rock pile in the pictures was started on Tuesday. It's big enough now that you could could park two fullsize pickups on top, if you could get them up there.
