Subject: Re: 3950 JD cutter

Northeast Iowa
We did it for years with an 8200 and an 8420 on a 3950. Had an 8430 on a 3960 for years before that. The filler plate package makes the corn flow a whole lot better. Seems like it was about $110, and I had to drive to Ottumwa on a Friday to pick it up to chop the weekend we started on corn silage that year. Without it, lots and lots of climbing in and out of the cab to unplug stalks from the head when they'd go sideways and diagonal and screw up the flow as they got to the feedrolls.
