Subject: RE: Illinios corn?

Dodge County, WI
I drove south on I39/I90 from WI to Rochelle, then west on I88 to East Moline Thursday. Corn right along the border looked pretty bad in some spots, nice in others. Once I got close to I88 though, corn and beans look pretty consistently nice. Good color and no curling leaves. Interesting to note though is that some mostly flat fields may have a slight rise in them, and these spots are just torched off, right next to the good parts of the field.

Keep in mind, we have a lot of awful fields by me, and right about now just about everything looks better than what i'm used to seeing.

This was my view from the interstate. I was thinking these IL boys have less to worry about, and then I saw WCIL's post in this forum or the Market forum, and changed my tune. His poor pollination pics looked like the corn I wanted to trade my crop for. Looks can be deceiving.
