There is a lot of discussion about baling corn this year. I read recently that corn with no ears will have about 60 percent of the feed value of normal corn silage. Still a lot better than baling corn stalks in the fall. Nitrate poisoning is a concern, but the ensiling process should help with that. I think you will be better off cutting with a discbine than a shredder. We are going to try the same process as you, except my baler has a cutter in it so the stuff will be processed some and more dense. Getting the moisture right will be a little trial and error deal but I'm sure you will figure it out. Keep us posted how It works for you.
