Subject: soil moisture observations

Clark SD
I have been checking soil moisture in different situations.
What i have found so far is this.
In conventional tillage the soil is dry from 0 to 26" depth on grass land that was put into corn this year and dry from 0 to 12" depth in corn planted into a previous crop of spring wheat also conventional tillage.

On a couple of fields of continous no - till one rye stubble planted to corn and the other soybeans planted into spring wheat stubble there is moisture up the soil surface.
Granted, the no till crop is a little behind in progress but i found the observations interesting.
Mike
