There's a field by me on a county highway that looks JUST like that. Corn was just over knee high and the story goes coop mis applied herbicide. You can see beans coming up now so I am guessing they were "lucky" and didn't have any pre down. Stand looked uneven but "here" a poor stand of corn will almost always net more than a good stand of beans. My opinion anyways.
