Cant complain here around Red Deer, canola looks terrific, reminds of the best crop we ever had a few years back. Although I went down to Innisfail today and saw some really bad crops near Penhold, and I have a feeling it was from to much rain in the spring, just drowned out. Now, I know there was some quite damaging hail last tuesday around Innisfail, one fellow I talked to said his canola was wiped out.....anyway, my part of the world looks great for the most part....

With all this heat, we will need some rain to finish the crops, but ok for a few days yet. Not very often have I seen canola grow as fast as it is. Right now it's about 5ft tall, I am sure a few more warm days and it will be over 6. Not many years you see it that tall....

Will be interesting to see what happens with the soybeans in the states as this is what dictates our price...
