Apologize if someone has already posted this. I know I read it somewhere but can't remember where. I was just looking at NASS numbers and wanted to see how bad other drought years were. Take the five-year average U.S. corn yield preceding the droughts of '36, '83 and '88 (I threw out '34 on the early average cause it was a bad year too). The '36, '83 and '88 yields were all 77% of those five year averages. Our present 5 year average is 156. 77% of that would be 120 |
