Winterset, Iowa | There's a lot more Iowa than just along the Missouri river. I know early that area was getting rain that did not make it very far east. Anyway, your pilot needs to travel around and see some more of the state before thinking that we have a crop in the bank. At least in my location, 30 miles southwest of Des Moines things are getting prettly critical. We still have some potential if it starts raining but the forecast does not look good. Corn is showing a lot of stress when the temps are still below 85 so that means DRY. A lot of corn was pollinating in the 100 plus degree heat a week ago so it's to early to tell how that went. | |
