Subject: Re: cooking cocklebur

Many organic farmers are growing their own feed, in part to control the source of the feed, but also because buying organic feed is an economical aberration.
If traditional feed and hay prices are also going through the roof, there may be a come-back to feed growing, it makes a huge positive difference financially.

Never had burdock root yet, but yeah, the days of cheap meat are gone.
I wouldn't call $1/lb chicken good meat though. Real good meat is out of reach for most. When it's even available.
I don't think we'll see meat replaced by cocklebur any time soon, CAFO meat still makes a lot of money for the processors and traders, even if it does not make any sense for the farmers' pockets, for the consumer's health or for the environment.
