That's exactly right - our little bitty commodity market is dwarfed by other concerns so we will often watch market wondering what planet the traders came from. We speak of potential food shortages, but it has to just about really happen for it to matter. It's frustrating, but it is what it is. Make profitable sales or take a position on the market to 'insure' a floor price when the market is up and don't assume that burning up corn will always carry the market - you'd think it have to eventually and it might - or we'll buy it from SA.
