A few years ago we had one that was snake bit. They are on pasture. We figured that the snake was next to her either when she laid down or got up, she was bitten on the shoulder. It swelled to about the size of a baseball. We found the fang marks on the bottom of the knot. The swelling eventully cracked open at the top and it drained. The cow came through it fine. It left a scar.
