| Roses are actually quite hardy, especially my favorite Buck roses from Iowa State. Rather than taking off just the wilted flowers, cut back the branch to a five leaf cluster, as a way of shaping the bush. They will need plenty of water, but don't leave the leaves wet overnight, which might encourage black spot. You might want to fertilize them now, unless they are under heat and drought stress. Find a neighbor, a Master Gardener or even a book and learn what works in your area. | |
