Subject: MPCI reinsurance


Northeast Nebraska and Candelaria Philippines
Below there is a thread about crop insurance companies and the possibilty of them becoming unsolvent. The question arose about the companies being reinsured. The federal government reinsures these companies through the FCIC (federal crop insurance corp).

There was discussion on if they were re-insured elsewhere. It was of my understanding that the companies were solely reinsured through the FCIC. After further research, I find that I was inncorrect.

The crop insurance companies do have the option to be reinsured through stop loss agreements.


Up for debate....... does the 578's or the sale of grain determine share?

Maybe I can go 1 for 2.
