If your a grain farmer, put the water on.....
If your an insurance farmer, turn it off.
I think you answered the question : "Kind of goes against my farmer mindset to NOT raise the bushels."
It may or may not be the more profitable way, but the difference in $ paid on 5% of your production affecting the other 95%, in my mind wouldn't matter to my brain when the combine rolls...
Here's the dilema......What would you do?
