South Central Kansas, Harper County | About 20-30 years ago, my Dad and I were in the process of purchasing a used John Deere Baler. Been so long, I can't remember the model number. But, one of the dealerships service personal had brought the baler out, and was showing me how to operate it. We were both in the tractor when suddenly the belts started up in flames. We drove it through the small field in a trail of flames to the road, he made me get out and continued to the road and his pickup. He quickly unhooked the baler as it continued to burn. Melted some light lenses on the back of the tractor, but that was all the damage to that. The baler was a total loss. Needless to say, we didnt purchase "that" baler! |
