I did the same, photo cell and a switch in line so the light comes on at dark only when I want it. I prefer the white light of a metal halide vs yellow light of sodium. Also 400w wall pack is very bright, you need to have it at least 20 ft to take advantage of the light, if lower go with 250w. I put up a 400w wall pack at 15 ft because the price was right on that fixture.
