Subject: Re: shed price ?

Michigan - Saginaw County
Bid today on a 60X120X18 with a 24 foot slider and a 32 foot slider , one man door, skylights, steel roof and sides. materials and labor was ~$75K A little over $10 a sq. ft. (The concrete bid is pending from a local guy) A name brand barn...

Anyway, I told him to sharpen his pencil... After some discussion he thought he could do the same building at 16' 6" high (15' 4" under the doors) for a better price... Said the engineer makes him go to larger poles for an 18 foot, heavier purlins, heavier doors, etc. which runs the price up..

Concrete is being bid at 6" with half inch rebar... I'm half thinking about putting a crushed stone floor in it and forget about using it as a shop...
Or I could shoot the moon and have it insulated and heated at a sharp jump in cost...
I have an insulated work shop with a 12x12 door - combine, planter, and one tractor won't fit...
Decisions, decisions...
