Did some custom oats for a neighbor in the area today and would have got done if his truck wouldnt have broke down. I think he told me they were a "jerry" hybrid. Sample tested a little over 12 and TW was 35LBS. Looks like after its all said and done they will make between 50 and 55. I cut for him 2 years ago in the same place and they werent very good and the seeding didnt take. Seeding looks good but the cracks in the ground sure are big. It will need a nice rain to get much of hay cutting this year. A/C in the combine was just not cutting it today either. It needs some more work.
Was able to get my son to help a little today after he got home. I thougt having him standing there was a good way to see how tall the oats were. Proably a good thing we didnt get a big rain with some wind before we got them cut.
