Sac & Story county IA | It is a game of chicken. The ethanol plant near here called there corn vendors awhile back. They asked how much corn each person had that they were going to sell before harvest. They came up with the results that they could lowball their bids. Add to that the period a few weeks ago that the market was falling out of bed. Customers offering big lots for low prices. One customer had 200,000 and planned to haul it with his truck. Looked bad that day, looks pretty good today. This all gave the manager the idea he didn't have to pay up to get what he wanted. I sold some corn this morning and it didn't go to them. | |
