South Central Kansas, Harper County | Always looking to improve my operation, so thinking about upgrading planters in the future. Currently using a White 6122 12 row,30" planter. Like to perhaps move up to a center fill type planter. I am 100% notil. I plant my soybeans on 15" centers with my JD 1890/1910 air seeder. I have planted a few fields with my White planter, and know I can save in seed costs by going with a planter. Which JD model planter should I be looking at? I have planted some of my beans, like I said, with my White planter, in 30" rows, but I like the canopy developing quicker with my Air Seeder in 15" rows. I could go with a JD planter with center fill, that is set up for 30" rows and probably get along quite alright. But, if I wanted to venture into 15"-20" rows, which JD planter would give me that option? I am definitely looking used here, but something from the 2006 year on up would be an option.
thanks,
Jim |
