Subject: Gerringhoff heads issues on JD9660

N IL
I have a JD 9660 with an 8 row Gerringhoff rotadisc, has anybody had theses issues?

We have to run the head at high RPMs in order to keep it from slipping the reverser belt and stopping the head while combining. We started with a new belt at the beginning of the season and gap between the shieves was correct. Would a heavy duty reverser make a difference? The head doesn't seem to pull that hard...

Since we are running the head so fast, we seem to be losing more ears than we did with our JD893(always ran it real slow).

Hooking and unhooking the head from the head hauler(killbros) is very difficult. You have to be perfectly alligned to get it right. We usually use two people and even then it takes a couple tries to get it right. I was told the head was originally on a 9660, so I am not sure what the problem is.

As far as the quality of the machine and the chopping job it does, I love it.

Thanks in advance for the help!
