Subject: RE: New Grain Leg, Too Much Damaged Corn (FINES)!!!!!

East Central Ia
We have some dead heads... although most have been replaced with cushion boxes as we have done work on the pipes. We bought an old elevator site and its a constant work in progress.

We dump grain out of the dryer into a paddle conveyor and into a leg, then into a cooling bin. The grain is then cooled and then transfered to a large 66' bin with a spreader. We have never had trouble with fines.

But we almost have a grain cleaner built in... As we transfer to the big bin the corn comes past a spot where air from our wet bin is blowing up the pipe. The corn transfers from one conveyor to another right by a distribution box. We have an old silo next to this spot and it always has a ton of fines pile up in it while we transfer.
