Subject: RE: Hesston 856A and 956A balers

I have a 856A. Never been around a 956A so don't know the fine differences.

As mentioned, the pickup wheel setup should be better on the 956A. Not that the 856A setup is bad but the front lawnmower size tires need Slime in them to stay inflated. This is not an issue on the hard rubber tires used on the 956A.

I've also had to have both of my guage wheel support brackets welded. No big deal but they were never abused, just real crappy welds to begin with.

Insurance is probably a good idea on any round baler of value. I have my 856A insured for $26K Seems like it costs about $120/yr with a $5K deductible on the insurance.
