Is there a general consensus on what seed works best with JD finger pickup units. Flats, rounds? What happens if they get mixed?

I always thought med. to large rounds. Mixing will not plant as evenly.

Another issue, I had the dealer go through my units this spring for the first time in about 10 years. The spacing was better before they rebuilt them. I even had 1 row dropping doubles and triples. Could they have messed them up this bad?
