I had 2 small cracks in the top of our bulk fill tank on the planter that i fixed with some flexible plastic glue (not sure of the brand). Just glued another piece of plastic to the cracked area and it's worked great. I would imagine if you did the same sort of deal on the tank the water pressure would help seal it up water tight.
