NW MINN
Thanks for the responses. At my Friday meeting I asked specifically about cancellation penalties. Since I have not recieved any cost share I was told that there would be no penalties if I requested the cancellation, but if I were found out of compliance then all cost share and 20% of the contract total would be imposed. By the way this is an EQUIP rotational grazing program and a pump station is nothing more than a well, pump and pressure tank. As for the steel posts they work well here, really flat ground and long straight runs. Our ground tends to be wet, even a good oak post will rot off at ground level after about 20 yrs. And up here you can't buy them ,it's cut peel and point them yourself, then let them dry at least a year. I can just imagine what NRCS would say about that delay! I've heard amazing things about locust and hedge posts but don't have access to them here. And 6ft Tposts are half the price of a 3-4" treated (pine I think). I'm going to see the DC and Tech that I've been working with Monday or Tuesday and get somethings ironed out and in writing and go from there. As for NRCS employees I get along well with all the DCs ,Techs and Range specialists I've worked with but I think there is pressure from above.
