North Central Illinois | We don't need to shut down the EPA. We need to reign it in and get it back to what President Nixon envisioned when it was formed. Lisa Jackson has always been a PIA and after a stunt like this she needs to go. There needs to be some major reforms within the EPA and concerning what authority they have. I believe however that there is a need for the agency. If there were no evnvironmental laws industry and agriculture would pollute like they did 40 years ago. There have been some positive things accomplished that probably never would have happend had the EPA not been formed. There are a lot of rivers and streams that are pretty clean now as compared to 40 years ago and overall air quality in big cities is better. The EPA has just been allowed to go way too far in some case during the last 20 years. | |
