From a thread below, wondering what model Schumacher charger you have? Would it be the SSC 1500A? I have a couple Optima laying idle for a few years & would like to try to bring them back to life.
The model I have is an SC8020A. I have used the little BatteryMINDer charger / desulfator / maintainer. units for many years and know they will desulfate a battery.
The Schumacher SC8020A is fairly new to me, so I do not know it's desulfate capabilitys, but I will say that it does a good job of recharging an AGM battery as quickly as possible without overheating/ overcharging and drying it out.
