Lauerman's closed several years back - I was actually there the last night it was open - completly unannounced.  The bartender mentioned it to me as we were all walking out.  They made the best pickled eggs.  

It was actually a great lunch spot and a pub.  Beer only, IIRC.

Lauermans 2 was open in North Fargo near NDSU, but near was as popular (in my opinion).

If I remember correctly, Jim died about 10 years ago, and his family shut down #2 not long after.  The original stayed open for quite a bit longer.  JL Beers might not be actually affiliated with the family, just a tribute type thing, but I could be wrong.
