| I hear people call in to Dave Ramsey all the time with complaints like these. He recommends sending a Registered letter (Return Reciept Requested, so that you have proof they recieved it). They have something like 10 working days to respond with the proof of derogatory credit info or they are required by law to remove it from your bureau history.
I'm SURE there's more to it than what I have written/typed here, but I suspect probably a LOT of it could be found on his website (DaveRamsey.com I assume). You have a lot more rights in this sort of thing than most people know, but there are some hoops to jump through to make them do the right thing at the other end. Good luck. | |
