Kaukauna WI | I have 5 kids and have always worked both on our farm and at my city job. Kids went to daycare always. No family to babysit except my own kids when they got older babysat in the summer. I worked full-time at my city job when I had one, two, and three kids, but when I had twins, I went to 24 hours a week.
All that while, I went out the barn everyday, even if it was just a half hour to look around. Now that the kids are grown, I work in the barn 5 hours most days and at my city job 5 hours a day.
It's just the way it is. I'm 58 now. At least my kids are all healthy and so are we so it wasn't that bad.
I worked mostly for the benefits but partly for my sanity. | |
