| Testing on a test stand is crucial. And its more crucial that the operator of the test stand knows what he is doing.
Last time I planted corn, no till 2007 with mostly standard JD finger meters in my 7000, I ran out of seed before I ran out of field. I had planned to have 1/8th sack left. I checked the stand when the corn was up, in nearly every 17'4" section, I found the planned 36 plants on the picket fence spacing with one extra at random. Not really a double but in between the evenly spaced seed. I presume one seed sneaked past the meter about every three meter revolutions. Whether it was brush or what, I don't know. And I don't know how to have cured it. My tenant has a new 24 row White/MF planter and I let him worry about those details, though I do pay for half the seed.
