| I have been lurker on this site for years. I have always found the advise given here helpful. Now it is my turn to ask for some help.
I am looking to replace my planter tractor in order to pull my Kinze 3600 12 row with dry fertilizer. I found that my JD 7800, with 18.4x42 duals, will not pull the hills in the Northeast due to lack of traction. I am currently looking at three tractors: 2005 JD 8220 MFWD with 1809 hours, 20.8 x 42 duals for $125K or a 2003 JD 8220 MFWD with 2443 hours, 18.4 x 46 duals for $110K and lastly a 2008 JD 7930 MFWD with 1000 hours, 20.8 x 42 singles for $127K.
Part of the dilemma is whether I want to use 20.8's...are they too wide and will pinch the rows or could I get by with them? The other part is I would still have to buy axle duals for the 7930. By the way, 7930 has PowerQuad.
Thanks in advance!
