| I just sold the majority of beans I had left from 2011 and am considering selling 2012 beans this week. We don't grow a lot of wheat in this neighborhood but it is far ahead of itself for this time of year. A lot of wheat doesn't get combined until late June and this year will be out of the field the first week of June. It wouldn't surprise me if the beans planted after wheat will yield twice the yield they normally do. Some wheat was banged up by frost and will be torn up and planted to beans. Also if the weather stays wet we'll see less corn and more beans planted if the corn isn't planted by the end of the month. We are mostly done with corn in this neighborhood but nationwide we are only half planted. Less corn and more beans means it's time to start pricing beans. But I reserve the right to change my mind tomorrow.... or maybe later tonight. | |
