North Central Illinois | During one of the Cat strikes of the past 20 years I had a friend that had been working there a couple of years when they went on strike. They had recently purchased a modest home and had three little kids. He couldn't afford to go on strike. He made the very hard decision to cross the picket line and keep working. Not only was he heckled while crossing the line, but he and his family were terrorized by striking workers and union goons in their hometown. These people went thru hell just because this man did the right thing and kept working to support his family. He still works at Cat but they moved to another town to get away from the harassment. I haven't talked to him lately but I'll almost guarantee he crossed the line this morning. | |
