Baldwin City, KS | Given the price run up of 6 row planters, I don't think it takes a very large farm to justify owning a 12 row for not much more money. 12 rows are a nice sized planter with a go anywhere, fit right in hair cut. I always thought the rule of thumb was if you couldn't get it done in 10 days, you need a bigger planter, or a second one anyway. Lot's of operation specific variables as well, including cattle herds or off farm job obligations. Long story short, don't watch your neighbors. If you think you need a bigger planter, figure out a way to go get one. | |
