Subject: Re: 4wd vs. tracked tractor Hp

SW Iowa

This was when 95Es were new, Quad tracks were quite new and Deere had their brand new two track machine out.  Cat was 410 engine hp, Deere was supposed to be 425 in thier two track and the Quad was 440 engine hp.  The Deere should have had a slight hp advantage over the Cat, but the three should have been evenily rated with driveline losses.  The Deere representative had nothing to say when the farmer told them "You can't even play fair in a ---------- field demo."

My comments started out trying to show the power loss going from an articulated to two track machine, and it ended up being color competition.  To the original poster, I hope you found the info you were looking for.
