SC Iowa | Some of these plants may have the ability to access corn via rail......so they may be trying to see if there is available corn in the truck market or if they will consider sourcing by rail.......
Also likely there is a healthy difference in truck vs. rail so they want to avoid rail best they can
If corn continues to get tighter, I would expect them to allow all their summer corn to come in during May/June..
** at some point, corn for some of these dry mill ethanol plants will get too expensive and they will consider slowing down/shutting for a period of time...
appears 2011 was about $8 cash corn......this year shaping up to be about big basis numbers....
