Neat pictures. I agree on the shape of a lot of dairies in that part of the US. My Mom's family (on the maternal side) farmed for years around Wind Lake and Waterford Wisconsin. Last time I went through the area in the late 90's a lot of the places I remember being gorgeous in the 70's and 80's had gone downhill a lot. Those dairies were all somewhere between 25 and 75 milking cows give or take. Stanchion barn/tie barn set ups. Guess that just wasn't enough cows to support more people or the younger generation decided there were easier ways to make a buck.
