Subject: Re: Water Well Troubles

Manitoba, Canada
I had something similar happen a year ago. I was having trouble with the pump not shutting off. Eventually found out one of the contacts had popped out of it's little plastic holder. I put it in it's place only to have it do it again right away. I then discovered that the plastic had been melted just enough that it would no longer lock in place properly. I also found out the tank bladder had ruptured. I replaced both the tank and the pressure switch. I don't know for sure what happened but I suspect the points weren't making good contact and heated up and melted the plastic which then caused the pump to continue running which then over pressurized the (never maintained) tank causing the bladder to rupture. I don't know but took a while to actually find all the problems.
