I would test for ground on the tractor end and ground on the sensor end. If one of the three is ground then you've got a 50/50 chance of getting the next two right without having to worry about blowing fuses or other excitement. Sorry I can't help with colors, but I've seen companies change sensors and colour schemes from year to year on the same piece of gear. Fun fun fun...
