I run a 5800 gal Houle on my 8300 and never thought about needing more weight. Maybe your right about the wagon not transfering enough weight. Those big tires might also give that feeling in the cab without actually being dangerous. I'm not sure of a safe way to test that either. One thing I don't want to add is extra (unneeded) weight.
