Abilene, Texas | Posted a while back about my seals leaking on Nh8970 FWD hubs. Advice from NH8970 and bbbinls was helpful and appreciative. Especially advice about replacing the rear brass bushing and the seal. Left hub was clean and in good shape, no appreciable wear and just needed seals and an oil change. Right side was a different story! Ended up replacing the sun gear in that side in addition to the normal wear parts and seals. I think in the future I will pull these apart every 2500hrs or so and check and replace stuff as needed. Did a parts cost check with my dealer and it would be really, really ugly if you let it run till failure. | |
