Crowbar gave you just about everything there is but I will add the 99 had several versions, (99E, 99G, 99C, etc.). These letter designations were not stamped making it somewhat difficult to determine exact model and value. Savage also made a take-down version of the 99 which may add value. There would be a small slide latch on the bottom side of the forearm and after removing forearm twist the barrel to remove. Here is a link to gunbroker to get an idea of models/conditions/price.
